Dia de la Independencia Celebrations at Grupo Vidanta Resorts

Grupo Vidanta invites everyone to come and visit one of our Mexican resorts during the month of September to enjoy the Dia de la Independencia (Independence Day) festivities. September 16th is Mexico’s Independence Day, and it is perhaps the most celebrated holiday in Mexican culture today. Any Grupo Vidanta resort location is a perfect place to visit during the Dia de la Independencia festivities since this holiday is celebrated nationwide in Mexico.

The festivities begin on the night of the 15th and at midnight a special televised ceremony called “grito” takes place. The ceremony begins with a speech from the President of Mexico which is followed by the audience and the President shouting, in unison, historic names of those who fought for Mexico’s independence, and then the ceremony ends with a resounding cry of Viva Mexico! After the ceremony, various parties then begin throughout Mexico. Other activities enjoyed on Dia de la Independencia include live outdoor music, a variety of different foods, and dancing. Grupo Vidanta has information available about local celebrations so that our guests can enjoy the celebrations of Dia de la Independencia that happen near their Grupo Vidanta resort.

One of Grupo Vidanta’s guest-favorites is the fireworks that take place on Dia de la Independencia. There are different ways to enjoy the fireworks, including professional displays, city displays, and even purchasing your own fireworks in some places. Grupo Vidanta can give guests information on local firework displays and displays in surrounding areas of a resort.

Grupo Vidanta’s guests come every year to celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day, and a Grupo Vidanta resort is the perfect place for guests to enjoy all of the Dia de la Independencia festivities and learn more about this famous Mexican holiday.
